Welcome to The Secret Orchard where the fruits of my passion will be revealed.
The Secret Orchard began life in 2007 at our farm in Hesketh Bank, Lancashire. Paul and I wanted to shape our own future in something that we love. Horticulture comes naturally for both of us, growing up in the county's 'salad bowl' and inspired by our green fingered parents. Our first adventure saw us planting fruit trees and growing on and selling Spring flowering bulbs in the vast spaces of our empty greenhouses.
Over time we stopped landscaping and selling plants and focussed entirely on selling flowering bulbs. Our bulb supplies come directly from Holland to ensure quality and freshness. We also grow on any remaining bulbs at the end of each season. Some end up in our bulb border on the local allotments which is a delight to see for many of the locals.
In 2021 we resumed our landscaping and you will be able to see right here what we've been up to. And in 2022 I have decided at going to back to growing, mainly trees and shrubs from seed and cuttings.
People might think that gardening is a chore or it's boring but to me it brings so much joy, I feel like I don't need anything else. You should give it a go!
